Steve Isreael and Dems Hug Unions and Screw America

"Will you stand with President Obama in creating jobs?"

This is the question in a recent email from Steve Israel, Chairman of the DCCC. In the email was a very disturbing image. (And I don't just mean the image of standing with a President who really has no clue how to "create jobs" in America.)

"Dems 2012 . . . Union-Made in the USA!" Union-made??! Now if that does not confirm all I have been saying about how Democrats and liberals are in the pockets of unions, I don't know what is. This is so very scary a thought. Unions controlling our country.

Not to say that almost all politicians are in the pockets of special interest groups, but just imagine how scary a country controlled by unions would be. Gone wold be your ability to work for whoever you want, wherever you want to work without being beholden to some political, money greedy thugs. (Yes, my opinion of unions is very strong in the negative direction and I have experience to back up my great dislike. Maybe I'll detail it here some day . . . like a whole post dedicated because the tale is scary and bit long.)

Take the NLRB and unions attack of Boeing and South Carolina.

Sout Carolina is a right to work state. You can quit and/or they can fire you, without preamble. But companies are very employee-centric in states like this. Andwith SC's 10.5% unemployment rating, they need to attract business however they can, to get their citizens back to work. Boeing, seeing the huge potential of a dedicated workforce, a state willing to help them and none of the union BS they have to deal with in states like PA or WA. Employees wages can be geared toward the area economic situation and employees don't have to lose a chunk of their money to unions.

AND what unions wil not tell you is that states like this CAN have unions in them. But it is up to employees to both opt in to these unions and opt out if they don't like it. Becasue unions don't want workers to determine what is best for themselves.

And with all the protections under law in place, the usual reasons for unions are non-existent.

Union-made politicians. Man, if that don't give you nightmares, I don't know what will.

Now, onto President Obama creating jobs. He still does not know how to do it. He's never done it. And, by all indications, he never will. He is still blowing hot air about 'shovel-ready' jobs even though he admitted there are no such things. And construction jobs for specific projects in mind are not continuing jobs, they are temporary band-aies to get workers back to work. In this field only. For secretaries, bakers, doctors, and so many other professions that make up almost 80% of the workfroce, these types of jobs are not in the cards.

Mr. President, get outof the way, stop making stupid stump speeches and get with the program. Start talking to the industry leaders who WILL create jobs to find out how it is done. Stop stabbing the job creators in the back with your class warfare rhetoric. If you thought that everyone in America shuold give their fair share than do on of two things, or both, if you're courageous enough. Make EVRYONE pay taxes, not just the 'wealthy'. And / or make taxes simple. Do away with loopholes, make the tax rate a definative thing. 10% for everyone. No ifs, ands or buts. 10%. And everyone pays. Because right now you have 50% of America not paying ANY taxes. Where is your political stump speeches about how THESE citizens are not contributing? It is in the politically correct category of "don't upset the apple cart, don't make enemies of your constituent base, don't make it seem like you hate poor people." Instead just hate rich people, ignoring the fact that has been pointed out to you time and time again. It is the wealthy business owners who create jobs. Not the government, not the poor, not the lower income middle class.

I could go on, but I thnk I made my point. If not, comment and tell me what you think I am wrong about or what you think I missed. I won't mind. I won't get upset. I won't stop answering your questions (unlike some politicians who refuse to speak with media outlets or citizens who ask the tough questions). Because this is just me, Thinking Out Loud.

Exciting News

I have exciting news.

And it has nothing to do with Barack Obama's jobs plan (which I've already spoken out about before the latest news from GOP). It has nothing to do with Huntsman sucking up to the sports minded fans of South Carolina (like going to Clemson and Univeristy of South Carolina games is NOT going to offset each other). Or Hillary announcing there is "less than zero" chance of here going up against Obama in 2012 Primary (don't you love politicians who say such things . . . makes you wanna shout LIAR!).

No, my news is actually about me. I have been walking around with an elated feeling that even politics can't sway from me.

After all the articles, blogs, reviews, short stories I have published over the years, I have finally published BOOK ONE. (I call it that because I have every intention of following this up quickly with non-fiction, fiction and many more books. Let the flood waters spill!)

It is a poetry anthology of poems and pictures about my time as a truck driver. Aptly titled, Behind the Wheel: A Trucker's Poetry Book, I hope to dispel some preconceptions about truckers, life on the road and what these dedicated professionals have to deal with in regards to family, friends, job and life on the road in general. You can check it out (it is an e-book you can download on many platforms) if you'd like. I know I would LOVE it if you checked it out.

Now that I have broken that barrier in my life, I will be publishing more. Including the soon to be completed non-fiction "memoir" of the 2008 political campaign up to Barack's first year in office. Thinking Out Loud: The Book should be done editing next week and I will be getting that one out there.

Anyway, thank you all for your support of this blog. It is to you and the people over at WM Freelancers on LinkedIn that I gained my courage to do this. (I did the dedication to my family for Behind the Wheel, but it will be to you all that I will be dedicating the next one. After all, it was my readers, both casual and dedicated, that have inspired me to keep writing my thoughts on all things in America from a conservative viewpoint.

I will be back to wax politic and philosophical. For now, this is just me, Thinking Out Loud, and beaming from ear to ear.

Jobs, yes . . but is that all he should say??

President Barack Obama addressed a joint session of Congress about his jobs plan.

The question whether he should have addressed this to a full Congressional session and have it televised as such to the American public is moot. The ready answer is no. It was political showboating and a manuever to win an election. And even though he spoke of not doing such a thing, this only made his stand weaker. But it is neither here nor there at this point. It is what it is. It happened. Get past it.

The plan he put forward had both conservative and liberal elements. Can we say MIDDLE OF THE ROAD POLITICS? Yes we can! Was this speech intended to boost his declining poll ratings? Yes it was! Does that change that part of what he spoke was true? Hey, even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Obama looked Presidential . . . for most of the speech anyway. Had he steered clear of his union endorsement, his social agenda crap and his small jabs at his opponents, he might have actually impressed me more as a president worth more of a historical sidebar than he was the first black president. But he could not help himself.

To the plan itself, it has some merits and should certainly be examined and tuned by the legislators whose job it is to legislate. But it should not, nor should any legislation aside from a national declaration of emergency or war, be "passed right away." The American people, for whom the President said this was all about, should have a chance to look at it. The legislators, on whose shoulders the responsibility to rectifying small gaps in knowledge and making sure it does not "cost" the people in the long run falls, should take time to look at it. (Not a session or a month or several weeks - it should never take THAT long to look.)

But to "pass it right away," to "pass it immediately," without the due consideration a hefty and ambitious plan such as this is deserves, would be as big an injustice as much of the recent legislation that has passed "so we can know what is in it." The President may have looked mostly Presidential, but that doesn't equate to dictatorship. And we should never allow it. Follow our leadership when it deserves it, question our leadership all the time. It is the only way to keep the powermad illness that can overtake even the most public service person. They are, after all, only human.

I hope the President much success (hey, I've been out of work at a day job since 11/09), as it means success for the American people, the nation and the continued existence of the institution of a free and democratic society. But there are two things that I know.

One appearance of leadership among all the political bickering and silent sideline stances this president has shown in the past two and a half years can not make up for it. I look forward to his one term presidency ending in 2012.

And secondly, his lack of decorum for the obvious political posturing this speech presented despite his condemnation of such actions is tacky to say the least. He should have left all that out. He should have left all the union boosting out. He should have addressed both the beltway political gamesmanship as well as the outside the beltway political gamesmanship. He mentioned the lobbyist for the corporation but failed to scold the union comments by the likes of Jimmy Hoffa (who really should take an extended expedition to join, er find, his father).

His failure to address this and actually include his pro-union ties in his speech took so much credibility away from his claims of clearing away the politics of DC in favor of the job they were sent there to do.

Were I to give this speech a grade (which seems so en vogue these days to giver politicians "report cards"), I would give it a B+ for the ideas and effort. I would give it a C- for credibility. And I would give it an F for avoidance of biased political rhetoric.

Agree with me, disagree with me, it really doesn't matter to me. So long as I can get you to see past the pretty rpose and double meaning hidden in every political speech adn think for yourselves beyond the borders of political parties and ideology, than I have accomplished my goal. Because hey, this is just me, Thinking Out Loud.

Misunderstanding or intentional deception?

The budget / jobs issues plaguing DC and the US, the Standard & Poor's double standard downgrade of the US debt and the vile coming from all sources (including a VP that would willing label American's exercising their freedoms as "terrorists") is something the average person is scratching their collective heads about.

The downgrade was a stupid political move by a group of people who have drifted so far from where they are supposed to be. Not only did Standard & Poor's contribute to the problematic US (and world, at this point) economy by rating institutions that were dealing in derivatives that made no sense, they issued their downgrade on the basis of political and not monetary reasons. It was a ridiculous and confusing move. Ridiculous because they know the US will never default because they can just print more dollars (if needed, of course, because the the inflationary effect). Confusing because the market is full of day and amateur traders who don't understand what it all meant.

The bile that comes from the mouths of liberals and Democrats is most disturbing because it is Americans defaming Americans for little more than a difference in ideology or political opinion, and it is despicable. Pelosi has done it, Biden has done it and nearly every Democrat in office has devolved to using such hateful and powerful words as "terrorist", and blaming horrible acts on common political practices.

But beyond that is the unfathomable curiosity as to the "WHY" of it all. Anyone with common sense can look at the problem and come up with the general solution. Stop spending and borrowing money. Put into place a mechanism to keep the situation from happening again. It is simple. The "Cut, Cap and Balance" legislation did just that. Why could not the Democrats in Congress and the demagogue in the White House accept the principle and then argue the details? Why did they just have to refuse to even consider it? Because they don't want to. Not because it is "bad for America." Not because they think it is the wrong way to go. But because it would make sense, fix the problem and make them ACCOUNTABLE.

The last thing that President Obama, Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and every Democrat out there wants is to held accountable.

They want to instill fear. They want to tear this country apart so they can put it back together into something that little resembles the America the founders envisioned, the America that immigrants have held onto for hope and the America that you and I know and love so dear. And they want to continue their deceptions on everything from the budget issues to jobs creation. Just so you know, the only jobs the government can create is government, public sector, non-producing jobs. These are jobs that do nothing to increase the productivity of America. Jobs that shouldn't even exist in the first place, since there is so much duplication and redundancy in government departments already. Government can only create an ENVIRONMENT for jobs. But they will never do this if they kewep hosing around with their plans.

Every time they do something like Obamacare, they create confusion and apprehension in the business community. Every time they use class warfare statements in their speeches and policies, they hinder the business community from moving forward. With every sweep of the "tax the rich" commentary, they sweep future jobs right out the door. Government regulations and taxes are one thing. But burdensome regulations and OVER taxing the people who already pay the most taxes, is too much.

You can agree or disagree with me. Just ask yourself why the President and the Democrats had no plan but would oppose a plan that makes sense? Why they would continue to cause fear among seniors with lies, fear among business leaders with threats of even more regulation and taxes? Why would they say they don't care about not being in office yet press their re-election agenda even into their legislation and leading?

But it is okay if you disagree with me. It only matters that I get you, even some of you, to open your eyes and think for yourselves rather than continue to just take their rhetoric as gospel. Because, heck, this is just me, Thinking Out Loud.

Tyrannosaurus Debt

For those who remember Schoolhouse Rock, this is a funny blast from the past. But it is certainly not all that funny in real life.

$5 Trillion. If only.

". . .a fiscal misadventure, with million dollar dentures . . ." What a great description of our debt problems. Seems NO ONE has been responsible enough to rein in the ridiculous spending. And we would not have those outrageous war debt issues if we would just stop forgiving debt. I mean, Japan and Italy and Germany (in WWII) declared war on the world at large. Yet we have forgiven all the money we spent rebuilding. And now, Iraq and Afghanistan is draining our dollars without so much as a "how do you do" as far as repayment. How about giving us oil at a cheap rate? Tell OPEC to stuff it. The radicals attacked us and still attempt to do so. Yet we are spending so much money securing and rebuilding their countries. For what? No thanks in response. But the wimpy, pander to the lowest common denominator of the world and American apology artist POTUS would just forgive and forget.

Maybe it is time we elect people to office who will really rein in debt. And the best way to ensure they do so is to kick out of office the ones who will not do the job they were elected for.
The whiners will tell tales of woe about not caring for the needy in this country if we cut spending on the three big areas that suck up most of the money. (Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.) And the wimpy panty-waists who decry the wars will boo-hoo about how we destroyed their country so we need to pay for rebuilding it.

But I ask this, who is paying to rebuild the twin tower area in NYC? Who paid for rebuilding the Pentagon? Who is paying to rebuild the higher security and anxiety of a nation attacked unprovoked by cowards and liars? I don't see anyone stepping up to the plate. So why do we have to pay them for all this without anything in return when we were just shoring up our own country's defense by responding. They need to pay up, in oil or cash, and stop playing the innocent victims.
As for the entitlement programs, there is so much unnecessary redundancy and abuse in the systems of Medicare and Medicaid that the needy don't get what they really need. And the system has a built in binky factor (a binky is a baby pacifier for those of you in the dark about the term). We need to wean off those who no longer need the help, stop the abusers from scamming "the system" for their own lazy benefits and streamline the way things work so that the truly needy get all the help we can offer. And as for social security, that was a failed system the minute they diverted funds to other government needs.

Government is TOO BIG, the system of entitlements is too fat and bloated and used by those who are just lazy, and the the (most of) the people in office ned to be shipped back to the million dollar abodes they slithered out from. (This is not class envy, but proof that they are out of touch with regular Americans.)

As usual, you can agree with my assessment of the situation and wave your "Yay!" banner, or you can disagree and call me a callous elitist (but I would wrinkle my nose at the "elitist" part because it would be funny if it weren't sad). Either way, it really makes no difference to me. Just so long as that decision to agree or disagree was made up by your own mind and not just a regurgitation of some left or right wing pundit's pronouncement. But hey, this is just me, Thinking Out Loud.

New word, no need to get it out

Anyone who read the previous posting about getting help with the book can forget about it. If you missed it, that's fine. I deleted the post.

I never delete anything. But I realized that it was tacky asking for donations to help me self publish. I am that desperate to get this thing out there for as many people to read and be reminded that I didn't think about how it might offend my regular readers. So, this is a first, but I did delete it. Not that it had anything monumental to say.

Anyway, my nephew turned me onto a great way to publish and it is something I can do. So please pay attention to this space, as I will be advertising the book as soon as I am able to get it to the publisher. I am hoping to have it available in both standard book form and in electronic book form.

Back to my normal agenda, can you believe the political BS oozing out of DC? I'm sure you can. Because it is the same old BS dung that comes from Washington DC morons.

Cap, cut and balance was the only way to go. It made sense. It made fiscal sense, common sense and societal sense. But leave it up to the schmucks who run this country to come to a compromise that fails to keep us out of further debt, leaves us without a demand for our politicians to be responsible and leave us without responsible cuts in current spending.

We will pay through the nose, continue to pay through the nose and will always pay through the nose if we continue to let these morons lie to us (about seniors losing their checks this week), BS us ( about the need to stabilize the world economy by allowing us to run up MORE debt) and giving us the shaft (by allowing ridiculous spending habits).

Agree, disagree, it doesn't matter. Just stop listening to the spin and use that grey matter between your ears for more than just remembering to chew and walk at the same time. But hey, this is just me, Thinking Out Loud.

Some commons sense . . . PLEASE!!!

Okay, here is a situation I propose to you. You have a 22-yr old in college. He has a credit card so you can teach him about responsible financing. (Go with me on this, its just an analogy.) Your child has no job and YOU pay the credit card bill. Slow but sure, they run up the bill to the limit on all kinds of stuff they "say" is needed for their education. You may disagree, but they have some persuasive arguments.

Anyway, the credit card company contacts them directly and says "hey man, you're a really good spender so we want to UP your credit limit." They do this several times and the limit is ridiculously high. And YOU are still responsible for the bill.

So what do you do?? Do you call the credit card company and yell at them, demanding to know what the heck they were thinking? Do you take the card from your college age child? Do you sue either or both of them? I mean, what do you do?

Well, this is the situation we are all in with Washington's irresponsible spending and ridiculously high credit limit. They want to keep spending, and they'll give you lots of good reasons. Reasons that on the surface sound valid but you have to consider the economic times we are in. Hard choices have to be made in the area of spending. Raising the limit on the credit cards is also NOT a good option. It just puts off the inevitable and makes the problems worse.

The whole idea behind Cap, Cut and Balance is a responsible approach to government spending. And Standard and Poors has said that they will downgrade our bonds (meaning the dollar will be worth less and our credibility will be shot to heck), if we don't couple a raising of the debt limit with some kind of responsible management of our money. Which means we HAVE to have a Balanced budget, just like families across America. We HAVE to get serious about how we spend our money, just like every citizen in this country. And we HAVE to have a tried and true method of creating a stable economy. If we don't, we're serious trouble now and down the road..

Just like a family that has to make choices, the government is going to have to make choices. We may not like all the things we have to rein in right now, but we HAVE to. We have no choice at this juncture. Look into it for yourself. Don't be a willing follower of every pied piper out there. Think in relation to your own economic situation. Could you do in your family what the government is doing to our country?

Agree with me or disagree with me, it makes no matter. So long as I got you to think for yourself instead of listening to some talking head or a politician that talks out both sides of their yap or the guy down the street who talks louder than everyone else. And seriously, don't even listen to me and take things for gospel. Just make some common sense connections with what the government is doing and what you have to do every day. But heck, this is just me, Thinking Out Loud.
