State of the Union thoughts Part 1 (Energy)

The President made his State of the Union speech, his last while in THIS term. Hopefully it will be the last one he ever makes. But that is looking slimmer and slimmer as the days go on.

But anyway, he really doled things out and what BS it was! I am going to illuminate on a few things over the next couple of blogs. So I can truly explore them. (And maybe keep you reading. wE'll see.)

On comment he made bears looking into.

"Nowhere is the promise of innovation greater than in American-made energy. Over the last three years, we've opened millions of new acres for oil and gas exploration, and tonight, I'm directing my administration to open more than 75% of our potential offshore oil and gas resources. Right now, American oil production is the highest that it's been in eight years. That's right — eight years. Not only that — last year, we relied less on foreign oil than in any of the past sixteen years."

First part. ""Nowhere is the promise of innovation greater than in American-made energy."

Obama, despite the failures of his "green energy" initiatives which put money into the pockets of numerous energy companies that have gone out of business - and took our hard earned money through the Stimulus - and kept it out of the "all of the above" option GOP members had pushed for since before the 2008 election. He has blocked (or let his Democratic cronies block) all attempts to push forward with oil production, nuclear technologies and shale drilling. He and his regulating bozos have put every obstacle and new regulation in the way of advancing his claim to want independence from foreign oil. Then he goes and backs Sen. Harry Reid's stoppage of Yucca Mountain. Without and appropriate place to send spent fuel from nuclear plants, new nuke construction slows to a crawl. And the states had already PAID for Yucca Mountain. But do you think the President cares about that? Not. Just like he doesn't care about energy independence from foreign oil.

If he did, then he had to PUSH for this "all of the above" notion three years ago. It will take at least 10 to 15 years for the independence to start showing. But with his delays, capitulations to special interests, misplaced spending on crony companies that go bankrupt promoting his "clean energy" crap, his hell bent decisions to impact the coal industry, all prove that he isn't serious. So his words really ring hollow.

"Over the last three years, we've opened millions of new acres for oil and gas exploration . . ." In 2009, Obama delayed an expansion of the Bush oil exploration plan. In 2010, he slammed oil execs and slowed oil exploration and production, calling for even tighter regulations. Obama has consistently said one thing and then worked in the opposite direction.

This does not show his honesty in this area. It is almost like the 'President has two faces' scenario. He speaks with 'forked tongue.' It is hard to believe a man who wold go on an apology tour of those same oil producing countries, say he wants to be independent from the, makes regulations tighter, holds off on approving exploration, gives companies a year extension on their land leases and then makes it impossible to actually do any explorations.

Agree or disagree, I don't care. But stop being SHEEP and believing everything that comes out of the mouths of politicians or pundits. They all have agendas and not one of them is to see that you are properly informed. They will SPIN the truth and mix in the fantasy in order to get you over to their point of view. They will lie to you and rub your shoulders at the same time. All I ask is that you think for yourself. Look at ALL the information as it happened and stop believing their SPIN on history. They all do it. THEN make up your mind. If you do that, that I would consider my job done. Either way you decide to think is okay so long as it is YOUR thoughts and not those PUT there. But hey, this is just me, Thinking Out Loud.

Have a great SPIN-free day.

Charles
